Definition

A banner is a form of paid internet advertising in a square or rectangle that contains graphic elements, images, or texts and links to the advertiser’s website. It can naturally increase traffic or sales of products and services and information about new products, discounts, or promotions.

Description

A banner is an essential tool for e-mailing and remarketing that can increase brand awareness. Its main goal is to draw attention to a specific product or service. It can be placed practically anywhere on the web but is most often found on sidebars. It can be either static or dynamic. The most popular type of banner is the so-called full banner with dimensions of 468 × 60 pixels. See other types of banners and determine the format and targeting options.

In recent years, traditional banner advertising has expanded into other forms, such as ads on Facebook and YouTube or sponsored posts on Instagram.
